Tangent options

On most instruments we offer a set of locking metal tangents, which can be adjusted both sideways (to change the pitch of the note), and the front to back (to adjust when the tangent hits the string). They are unlocked and locked in place with a 1/16" hex driver, which is supplied with the instrument. A custom tangent wrench is available. Besides their ability to be locked in place, the metal tangents take up less space. We use metal tangents on our instruments with three (or more) chanters.

As an option on some instruments and standard on historical instruments, we offer the traditional wooden flag tangents, which can only be adjusted sideways and are held in place with a friction fit.
