The progress reports

Each week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates are usually made on Monday.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending July 29, 2002

VG35: It's really starting to look like a hurdy-gurdy... the electronics are installed, and the wheel is in, and the chanter strings are on.

VG35: a view from the top, looking down into the keybox

VG36: the tuner has been taken apart and is being rewired for fitting into the instrument

VG36: the back and sides are being finished

:

Pimpard: the finish on the back is being retouched

Pimpard: the finish on the wheel is drying

Pimpard: cleaning the keys

Germain: the pegs are being reshaped, and the peghead reamed for the pegs. In the foreground on the left is a new custom peg shaper. The steps to make this shaper are too numerous to show here, so are shown on this week's second page.

See last week for more pictures.
