Week ending July 29, 2002
VG35: It's really starting to look like a hurdy-gurdy... the electronics are installed, and the wheel is in, and the chanter strings are on.
VG35: a view from the top, looking down into the keybox
VG36: the tuner has been taken apart and is being rewired for fitting into the instrument
VG36: the back and sides are being finished
: Pimpard: the finish on the back is being retouched
Pimpard: the finish on the wheel is drying
Pimpard: cleaning the keys
Germain: the pegs are being reshaped, and the peghead reamed for the pegs. In the foreground on the left is a new custom peg shaper. The steps to make this shaper are too numerous to show here, so are shown on this week's second page. See last week for more pictures.
