The progress reportsEach week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates are usually made on Monday. We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order. |

Week ending September 2, 2002 The shop and studio remodelling still continue. These projects are taking considerably longer than anticipated! This week we're planning to continue with the shop and studio, but also to get the tools out and work on the instruments we need to get out in time for the festival.
In the studio:
All the flooring is laid in the main room - we'll do the spray booth later. Compare this picture with the image from last week showing the bare concrete being cleaned.
The star pattern is also completed, with a piece of figured Western bigleaf maple inset as the center. The original work plan provided us with two days to complete this floor. I guess it took a little longer! The flooring is made up of more than 5000 pieces of cedar. (How many exactly we don't know - we didn't count them.) Meanwhile in the shop...
Painting the walls with primer.
Some of the tools brought indoors again to shelter them from the rain showers that showed up today. Most of them are still outside under tarp and plastic covers. Note the masking around the electrical panels at right - thanks J&J!
See last week for more pictures.
