The progress reports

Each week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates are usually made on Monday.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending December 2, 2002

Our wonderful hosts in Annisquam, MA: Holly and John Perry. They made us incredibly welcome. Thank you, thank you!

The view from our window in Annisquam.

Unfortunately I missed getting pictures of the rest of the family, and of the memorial service. Our heartfelt thanks to all who came to remember my gramdmother, and to everyone for making us feel so welcome.

Doyle: it's done! Ready to go in the packing crate.

VG37: the back is on, the back braces are in, the top is cut for the soundboard and the linings are in.

VG37: the top braces are cut, and the soundboard is ready to be lasered and fitted.

"The Monk": the keybox is finished and glued on , and the peghead is being reinforced for the pegs.

JC's crank: Alden working on the handle on the little lathe.

Katie and Joanne came over to work on their psaltery project. Here they are crosscutting walnut lumber to length.

Katie resawing the walnut for the backs. If only my first resaw had been that straight...

Justin is back from his Thanksgiving break, and has been resawing tons of wood. His dog, Mauser, is recovering well from his surgery after he was hit by a car.

Alden thinks the beautiful clear space on the dining room table should get put to some use...

See last week (well, actually several weeks ago) for more pictures. I hope that by next week I will have written a page to make accessing the old updates easier - I know it's kind of a pain to page back through them all to get to the one of interest.
