The progress reports

Each week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates are usually made on Monday.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending December 9, 2002

I'm experimenting with a different graphic format for the pictures. If you have any problems with them, please let me know. (Some are in the new format, some in the old, so please specify which photo has a problem.)

LB4: the final rib is glued on, at last.

VG36: the prototype of a new capo system is being made up for testing

VG37: top braces and soundposts are glued in and sanded to radius, and the soundboard is lasered

VG39: Cali is trimming the sides for the back

VG39: the back linings are glued in and are being trimmed with a block plane

VG39: The back braces are in place.

"The Monk": oversize bushings for the pegs have been installed.

Remember that big pile of wood last week? Justin's been hard at work getting it to thickness.

Here's Justin at the lathe, making ...

... a whole bunch of shafts for VG37, 38, 39,. 40, 41, 42, and EG1.

Mauser got his surgical staples removed, and he's becoming more mobile.

See last week for more pictures. I haven't written the new page yet, so you still have to page back through. Write me email and complain gently so I remember to do it, OK?
