The progress reports

Each week we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates will usually be sometime on Monday, which is the end of our work week.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending July 27, 2003

Sorry for the gap in the narrative... but here we are again. I was in Colorado for a week, visiting my brother and sister-in-law, as well as other relatives. Sorry, no pictures, they're on the other computer. ;-)

It's been bloody hot here, at least for us thin-blooded Northwest types. The good news is that the raspberries are in season, so life is good.

Sorry about the photos this week - there's a blur on the lens where there was a fingerprint or something.

LB5

LB5: More ribs keep getting added on

LB5: and another one - Justin is probably the first person in history to make extensive use of an angle grinder for a luteback. He's also developed a nifty technique with rare-earth magnets to keep the joints level.

VG36:

Ready for finishing

Another coat of finish on the back and sides

Esprit prototype

Buffing out the finish on the new buffer

Unmasked at last - the masks are remove so the bridges can be glued on

AW's luteback repair

The edging inlay pieces FINALLY arrived in the post, so we've been able to start cutting the binding channel.

Justin's VG - no pictures, because it's not in the shop, it's in the house being played. Wow!

Some customers come to visit

Dust collection system addition

The foundation, partially dug.

The Zebra VG

At long last the Korg tuner is behaving, after many hours of debugging and testing of circuits and mounting techniques. This means we can go ahead with the keybox sides.

See last week and other weeks for more pictures.
