I have over thirty years of experience with repairing audio gear. I teach electronics to audio students at the Art Institute of Seattle, I enjoy teaching, and I am equally happy fixing your gear and spending shop time teaching you how to fix it. My book Electronics Concepts, Labs, and Projects: For Media Enthusiasts, Students, and Professionals is in press and will be released by Hal Leonard in January 2015. Guitar Pedal Building Workshops

• The shop bench time and on-site (in-studio) time rate is $100 per hour in half-hour increments.

• A flat fee of $100 for the first half-hour is charged to evaluate the repairs and provide an estimate. 

• Repairs will not be started without your approval unless specifically agreed upon in advance.
  

• A minimum of 2 hours is charged for on-site repairs.
  

• If the repair becomes more complex than expected and will exceed the estimate by more than 20%, we will contact you for approval to continue. We will do this as soon as possible in the process.
  

• If special-order parts or service manuals are required, their costs will be added to the repair.
  

• If you leave something at our shop, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you. Any item that is left for three months is considered abandoned and will be sold or given away without any obligation to repay you for its value.
