The progress reports

Each week we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates will usually be sometime on Monday, which is the end of our work week.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

 

Week ending June 2, 2003


 

VG36: all.the accroutrements assembled for oil-hardening the punches for the hidden Schaller tuners.

 

VG36: The punches after hardening, still covered with scale.

 

VG36: the punches being used on the mill to square up the corners inside the blackwood grips

 

 

VG38: the parts for the keybox

 

Esprit prototype: gluing up the stock for the keybox

VG32: gluing in the retaining ring for the back panel

A symphonie returns to have the top refitted with magnets to hold it in place.

 

In the garden, the great nuisance is this year's infestation of caterpillers, which have stripped entire trees of leaves (though fortunately none of ours.)
