The progress reports

Each week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates will usually be on Monday.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending September 6, 2005

See last week, or next week, or the index of other weeks for more pictures.

I won't bore you all with showing how we've got the dust collector hooked up to the tools - the table saw, the bandsaws, the miter saw, the jointer, the planer, the edge sander, the palm sander, the belt sander, the spindle sander, the disc sander... That's it for the major tools, and it's working quite well, though there are still a few tools to be hooked up and some final sealing and tweeking to be done. We'll have to wait until after the festival. It's already proven its worth: we can move easily from tool to tool, and we are never fighting R2D2, our old vacuum.

OK, just a few:

Hooking up to the planer

Milling a hole in the bandsaw blade cover for the dust collection port

JK Minstrel - stringing up the chanter

DA Volksgurdy - gluing in the linings

The soundboard on, the binding channel being cut.

SD, finally some pictures for you!

Bending the first rib

The first rib with purpleheart spacers being glued on

The next rib and spacer...

... and the next

The tail block

Sorry, no cute Dachshund pictures this week ;-(

Thanks for watching - tune in next week!
