The progress reports

Each week (hopefully) we update this page with new photos of instruments in progress. The updates will usually be on Monday.

We hope that you enjoy seeing the progress on your instrument and those of others who have them on order.

Week ending January 14, 2008

See last week, or next week, or the index of other weeks for more pictures.

It's been a quiet week in Lake Indianola... wait, wrong show.

It hasn't exactly been a quiet week here. It was the first week of the quarter at the Art Institute, and we're on a grant deadline at my other job at the University of Washington. A simple 20-minute appliance replacement snowballed into an all-day project.

On Saturday we journeyed down to Albany, Oregon for the funeral of Edna Clem Dow, Cali's aunt. Last week we had made the funeral urn for the family. Aunt Edna ("Donnie") was one of the great central figures of the family. Her love, her personality (and her food!) will be sorely missed. We're very grateful to the family for putting together such a beautiful memorial, especially to Woody and Julie.

It's also been a week for working on electronics design, which doesn't exactly have any cool pictures to look at. I could post the files for the schematics, I suppose...

Here are all the "parts" of the Chinook In Progress.

Here's the Chinook body strung with the chanter strings.

The new crank and handle to replace the one that went missing.

A Christmas present for my brother - almost finished. OK, it's a little late.

Thanks for watching - tune in next week!
